About Us

We are Lee and Julia Parish. Welcome to our blog!

Lee grew up in Rush Springs, Oklahoma and is the son of Ronald and Cindy Parish - two wonderful, faithful Christians. Lee began preaching by appointment while he attended Oklahoma State University. Upon returning to Rush Springs, Lee began preaching regularly at two small congregations in Southwest Oklahoma and worked with his father in farming and ranching for four and a half years. Lee loves Bible study, writing, and discussion of all kinds and also enjoys some "less-serious" pursuits such as basketball and baseball.

Julia is the daughter of George and Joy Jensen - Christians who have worked faithfully together for the Kingdom of our Lord in many places. Julia has lived in California, Iowa and Tanzania and has a deep love for missions - both stateside and overseas. She always dreamed of being the wife of a preacher and is incredibly happy to be just that. Among other things, Julia enjoys cooking, photography, reading and writing - sometimes all at once, it seems!

We became acquainted through an online Bible forum in May of 2009 and met in person that September. Lee visited Tanzania in January, 2010 and proposed during his stay. Six and a half [long :)] months later, we were married! While we were engaged, we made the decision to, Lord willing, attend the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions starting in the Summer of 2011. Thanks to the blessings of God and our many supporters, we have been able to go forward with those plans! We plan to chronicle our adventures here with this blog and hope you will enjoy reading about our experiences!
